There are two types of scissors for sewing: traditional all-metal type "Nogent" in France or scissors with metal blades and ergonomic plastic handles. In these two categories, blade lengths ranging from 16.5 to 25 cm are available (see above). The classics are a wonderful deal with a more conventional appearance regrindable, those ergonomic handles are adapted to the shape of the hand but are occasionally less accurate cutting of the end (the shape of the tip is coarser than the classic scissors to check when buying.) At the end of a machine seam, the cut-son can quickly cut the son. Small scissors with short and thin blades are available for embroidery.
A pair of scissors is required for sewing. A pair of scissors will merely cut paper (for employers), whereas an embroidery scissors will cut all small delicate and exact cuts (make a buttonhole, pinking etc. ..). A wire cutter is also useful when stitching a lot on the sewing machine. Needlework scissors are required for embroidery and are also used for knitting and crochet.
There is still a rule of thumb: fabric scissors cut the fabric, and paper scissors cut the paperdo. In fact, the paper is quite abrasive to the blades of scissors, so if you don't follow this rule, "fabric" scissors cut paper will also not intersect anything nice! But don't worry, nothing is permanent; if you have a pair of "traditional" scissors, you can sharpen them (that is anyway an operation to do make time to time to maintain his scissors.) It was an endangered trade, but thanks to the internet fairy, grinders mail are now available. There are little individual sharpeners that can refresh the blades of scissors with plastic grips.
